For students who may be interested, there would be opportunities within our clinical research program and/or virology laboratory-based program under the following projects/research areas:
    1. Enhancing Treatment of Hepatitis C in the Opiate Substitution Setting (ETHOS) Cohort – Partnership project to evaluate the delivery of assessment and treatment for HCV in the drug and alcohol setting.
    2. International Collaboration of Incident Hepatitis C in Injecting Cohorts (InC3) Collaboration – Collaborative group focused on epidemiology and natural history of HCV infection among IDUs with acute HCV infection.
    3. Australian Trial of Acute Hepatitis C II (ATAHC II) - Recently refunded NIH grant evaluating treatment strategies for acute HCV infection.
Aims 2 and 3 have strong laboratory components including HCV virology research on HCV reinfection, superinfection and resistance.
