This project is being launched to coincide with the XVIII International AIDS Conference to be held in Vienna, Austria, July 18th to 23rd.
The project is called the Vienna Declaration and it is the official declaration of the XVIII International AIDS Conference. It was drafted by a team of international experts and initiated by several of the world's leading HIV and drug policy scientific bodies.
The Vienna Declaration is a scientific statement stressing that conventional illicit drug policies have failed to achieve their intended objectives and that evidence-based public health approaches are urgently needed.
The Vienna Declaration is seeking endorsements from organizations, physicians and academics, affected communities and the general public. The NCRTP-HepC has agreed to help disseminate this information. You can read the full text of the Vienna Declaration here: http://www.viennadeclaration.com.
The creators of the Declaration would greatly appreciate the public’s assistance in disseminating the Declaration in an effort to increase the number of signatories and demonstrate strong support for evidence-based drug policies.
