| Biography | |
Mohammed graduated from the faculty of medicine, Cairo University (Cairo, Egypt) and received his MD in 1996. Mohamed has been trained as resident for 5 years in the department of Microbiology and Immunology at the National Liver Institute, Egypt. He obtained his Microbiology master degree in 2003 and his master thesis was about the prevalence of Helicobater Pylori infection in patients with chronic HCV and HBV associated with liver cirrhosis. He also obtained a second master degree in Clinical and Chemical Pathology from Cairo university in 2005. In 2006 he also obtained a diploma of Nosocomial Infection Control from the American University in Cairo. Since 2006 he joined Dr. Thomas Michalak research group as a PhD student.
He is interrested in the mechanism of HCV infectivity and immunopathogenesis in lymphoid tissues.
Awards:
Mohammed won the NCRTP Oscar of the year March 2009.
Mohammed recently won the AASLD student research award in November 2009.
Mohammed recently won the CASL student research award in March 2010.
