The NCRTP-HepC training program is an excellent program to bring the various disciplines of HCV research together. The required course is extremely interesting and I personally have learned an enormous amount of information from the various lectures that I would not generally have been exposed to. I now understand and actually read papers that come out in completely different areas to what I work in. In addition, participating in liver clinic visits is a part of the program I appreciated a lot. Working in a basic science lab, it is often easy to forget that real patients exist that are living with the disease and meeting them was a very good learning experience that allows us to put our research in perspective. |
